It’s okay to be imperfect but to brag about our imperfections is a disease/dysfunction and can keep us permanently disabled.

Everything on earth was created perfectly but to harness that perfection you and I have to continually upgrade by – learning new things, reading, networking, taking courses, seminars etc.

A good example of imperfection is the phone we use –

We are excited when we buy a new phone but to enjoy its full capacity for a long period of time we are to upgrade/ update the information on it. Apps also need constant updating to remain relevant and useful to the user.

The question we are bringing your way today is – which person are you?

  • Stubbornly imperfect: The kind of person that is stuck in their ways and refuses to change; sometimes even make excuses and brags about their yesterday’s insight or
  • Humbly imperfect: Are you the kind of person that is open to learning? Acknowledging that what you knew yesterday is just the foundation for tomorrow’s learning and opportunities.

Take this test to know which person you are:

Please tick your answer

  1. I listen to what is said and what is unsaid. (Yes / No)
  2. I am very intelligent and before people speak I already know what they are saying. (Yes / No)
  3. Sometimes I go back to things I knew and ask myself; is there anything I can still learn from this? (Yes/ No)
  4. I am intelligent and don’t need anybody to teach me (Yes/ No)
  5. I am a voice in my field! I allow other voices to be heard (Yes/ No)
  6. I rarely fail! That’s me! (Yes/ No)
  7. I fail sometimes and I know it’s okay and I’m willing to take the corrections and make adjustments before the day runs out. (Yes/ No)
  • If you answered yes to – 2, 4, 6 then you need to unlearn old habits
  • If you answered yes to – 1, 3, 5 and 7 you are learning and in the right place.

I will leave you with the wise sayings of Paul – “forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead”.
