Hello people! Hope your last week was filled with everything good?

Before we can answer the question “why did God create marriage”, we have to answer a more important question to ask why God created us.

God created us in His own image and likeness, so we could reflect His glory on earth. Simply put, we are to worship God with our lifestyle & everything we do should reflect the great splendor of God.  This is WORSHIP in its truest form.

With this is mind let’s talk about why God created marriage… God created marriage to represent His relationship between Christ church …

“This is a great mystery; put I speak concerning Christ and then Church” Ephesians 5:32

Rich says…

We (male & female) were created in his image and likeness so that inherently we feel and seek after God to please him. Just as fishes naturally love water and birds air, so we are to love God from the depth of our hearts. Our lifestyle should portray a life lived with a core motive to please God. (By the way, that is true worship).

For us to understand marriage, we have to study the relationship between Christ and the church. This relationship is achieved in marriage only when we play the roles ordained by God… “Husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave (died) himself for her” Ephesians 5:25. This depicts God’s standard of love in marriage for the husband.

“Wives submit (passionate respect) to your husband’s as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the Church.” Ephesians 5: 22-23

This two commandments when adhered to helps us portray or show an exact replica of the relationship of Christ with the church. Which in turn is a testimony of what we believe (WORSHIP).

BONDING TIME:

Discuss with your spouse, is your marriage a replica of Christ relationship with the church?

When people see your marriage, do they thank God for it?

Make out 15minutes to pray together and invite God afresh in your marriage.

Love,
