Hello beautiful ladies, how are we all doing? The year is running to an end and I believe we are all gearing up to finish the year well. Today, we will be discussing about ‘redefining beauty’ this topic is so dear to me that I had to bring it here for us all to look at it.

How many of us read this romantic novels or short films, especially the popular Korean ones? You will see glimpses of a lady disliked because she was on the big side and later became the talk of the town because she had become slim.

This ideology has affected so many ladies that we have anorexic and bulimic ladies, even models are dying because they need to keep to a certain body shape, irrespective of their natural size.

Currently we are now dealing with ladies paying for their buttocks to be increased, and some for their breasts to be increased, too. To crown it all, women especially mothers have towed the line of being indecently dressed, believing that this will keep their man from cheating.

Yet men seem to be on more rampage now than ever before. I believe we all have to look inwards as women and begin to look at ways in redefining beauty, if we are going to survive and give our daughters a better future.

Can we ask ourselves certain fundamental questions?
  1. Why was Sarah described as a very beautiful woman at an old age of roughly 80 years plus when King Abimelech desired her [GENESIS 20]? Remember there was no BBL or Liposuction or plastic surgery in that era, yet she caused a stir at 80 years plus. Was it just her physical appearance or was there something more?
  2. Can or has physical beauty kept any man?
  3. Without makeup and adornments can we say we are still beautiful?

I hope these few questions have piqued your interest towards finding and redefining what true beauty means to you?

Beauty according to google can be defined as a combination of qualities such as shape, colour or form that pleases the aesthetic senses especially the sight. With this definition we can see a great flaw already because we all age and change repeatedly because of childbearing, menopause, etc.

Therefore if we base our definition of beauty cum marriage on just our outward looks, the likelihood of liking yourself or keeping any man is next to none.

So let’s take a look at what true beauty means to God:

GENESIS 1:31

‘And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good [suitable, pleasant] and He approved it completely. And there was evening and there was morning, a sixth day.’ [AMPC]

1 PETER 3:3-4

‘3] Think about what makes you beautiful. The way that you prepare your hair does not really make you beautiful. Gold things or beautiful clothes do not make you beautiful. 4] Do not just think about your body, but think about what you are really like inside yourself. Be patient and do not become angry easily. Then you will always continue to be beautiful. If you are beautiful in your spirit, God likes that very much.’ EASY.

In summary beauty begins with a knowing of who you are in God. This intimate relationship brings about a deep knowing of oneself that reflects on the outside, giving you a unique attraction that money, adornments, etc cannot give.

Today, I ask you are you adorned with the spirit of God or with perishable stuffs?
