I heard of a story years ago that baffled me; but as years go by I have realized that this story or situation is so common in our lives.

Few years ago, I heard of a woman who died because she couldn’t afford to take herself to the hospital. As her father’s friend came to take her corpse to the mortuary, he looked at a framed picture over her bed intently, he realized it was a will of over 1 million naira. He wondered why she didn’t use it, till he remembered that the young lady couldn’t read. She had died poor; when infact she was a millionaire.

This story stuck with me; it doesn’t matter what you have been given, what matters is if you UNDERSTAND what you have been given.

I have seen a lot of rich men/women, a lot of successful men/women and few happy men/women but it is rare to see one person having the 3 at a go…

WHY THEN DO WE HAVE VERY FEW PEOPLE THAT ARE RICH, SUCCESSFUL AND HAPPY?

This is what I found out in my own life: Till you understand what you have, you can’t use it and if you can’t use it; it’s worthless to you…

For me that one ingredient that helped me on my way to accepting that it was my RIGHT to be Rich, Successful and Happy was understanding what Jesus did on the cross for me.

Galatians 3: 13 – Christ redeemed us from the CURSE of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole” [NIV]

What CURSE were they talking about?  Gen3:15 -19

  1. The War between good and evil: Gen 3:15

And I will putt enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

  1. Barrenness, Childbearing issues & lack of love between husband & wife: Gen 3:16

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

  1. Struggle with poverty and death: Gen 3:17 – 19

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return u to the ground; for out of it was thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

When Jesus Christ hung on the cross and his blood was shed; this 3 curses were broken.

HOW CAN I USE IT OR BENEFIT FROM IT?

Read to understand what Jesus has done for you.

Speak it daily till you know beyond benefit of doubt that it must happen or come to pass in your life.

No matter the circumstance, hold on to it.

I know beyond benefit of doubt that these blessings follow me:

The accuser of the brethren has no power over me and my household.

My children are blessings that will never bring sorrow and my husband and I are one flesh.

The work of my hands is blessed so much that I am a blessing to my generation.

To you reading this – what are you doing with what has been freely given to you?

Think about it …
