Ngee says…

My siblings have always believed that I was Dad’s favourite; but till date, I never understood why. For when you are someone’s favourite, it should come with certain privileges. This got me pondering about the possibility of being God’s favourite and all the difference it makes.

When someone says you are their favourite child, friend, sibling, etc; they are usually referring to the advantage you bring to their life and this usually draws them to do one or two special things in return.

This means that circumstances can change your status as favorite at any time. But there is one who calls us His favourite; not because of what advantage or benefit we bring, but simply because He created us.

Even though we all have the opportunity to be God’s favourite, why do few people enjoy this unique status and its benefits?

This is simply because, though the gift of favour is free for all mankind, we have an obligation to step/reach out and receive it.

Rich says…

Truly, we are God’s special people and His chosen generation. We must desire to live out this aspect of our relationship with God by pursuing God and being conscious of what He has done; thereby enjoying the benefits and blessings of this status.

Actually, if we do not appropriate and enjoy the blessing; it leaves us living ordinary lives with struggles.

However, the fullness comes when we make God our favourite; prioritizing Him above everything and being willing to please Him always.

Have you made God your favourite?

This year, we encourage you to step out in faith and claim the unique position of being God’s favourite by following these few steps:

  • Acknowledge that God paid the price of love for you through His Son Jesus Christ.
  • Spend time in prayer – reading and meditating on His promises about His children.
  • Find a place or ways to help people in your family, community or friends. This is God’s foremost project.
  • Then watch Him release much more than is possible to you.

My father is long gone; and although many claimed I was his favourite, I did not even get to feature in his will. But being God’s favourite is a sure deal! Though it might tarry (take longer than expected), His promises are sure!

So choose whose favourite you will be today; man or God?
