Ngee says…
I remember a story about a young man who wanted to really be rich. So, he met with the richest man in his town. The rich man agreed to meet him at his fishing spot. The young man asked him what the secret behind his wealth was; he was surprised when the rich man pushed him under water, holding him under the water till the young man could barely breathe anymore.
He did this three times and each time the young man struggled to get free.
He now told the young man that till he is as desperate as a drowning man looking to catch his breath, he will never be able to achieve tremendous wealth/success.
This got me thinking! Many of us have written a lot of goals for the year but how many of us are hungry enough to go the extra mile that others won’t go.
My marriage did not change till I was HUNGRY enough to DEMAND for more.
My character did not change till I was DESPERATE enough to ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY.
These few steps below are to help you live a life more than average.
1. LABELS:
Don’t accept the label that people or circumstances have called you; unless these labels bring you closer to your dream/vision. My father knowingly or unknowingly labelled us daughters as second class citizens. I had to make a conscious choice to refute that label and consciously see myself as God’s daughter – #Daughterofzion #Priceless.
Rich says… Only your Creator God knows who you are, your full capability and what you can achieve per season. So it is imperative you constantly interact with him to discover what is expected of you and what you can reach out for, then stretch for it. The most significant thing in your journey of success is the changes that take place in you as you reach out to achieve your goals. The change in attitude and mindset, new perspectives, patience and discipline you cultivate all remain with you and transform you into a changed person, giving you the ability to reproduce success. So stretch for more as you are made for more. |
2. LET GO OF THE BAGGAGE:
Many of us are so hurt, that we live our lives to prove a point to others or hold unto past hurts refusing to forgive.
But if you really want to make a recognizable headway in life, you must learn to daily let go of your hurts and use them as stepping stones or a learning curve to help you in your journey.
3. HOLD FAST UNTO YOUR VISION:
Many of us get derailed by things around us and therefore lose everything at the long run.
No one I know runs a race looking backwards or looking continually to their competitors. They win the race by staying the course and keeping their eyes fixed on the finish line and they do not stop till they get to it.
It is a New Year dear friend. Believe that you are made for more and remember that COMFORTABLE is not in the vocabulary of the successful. Run your race uncomfortable for you are MADE FOR MORE.
