What do you desire? A happily ever after, excellent children, successful career… name it it’s yours. We have been told that happiness stems from having all this and more.
If this is true, why is it that some successful people go into drugs and sometimes commit suicide even when they have all these and much more?
This is simply because what we are really searching for is something to fill that void at the center of our being.
I’ve been there - Lord God, more money please, children, a great marriage please!!! Each answered prayer opened up new possibilities yet I was never completely happy or fulfilled..
Then I fell in love with Him. Falling in love with Him wasn’t so difficult; He has always had my back. As years went by, I realized that life situations still affected my joy. I will ask myself what’s happening, when things didn’t go my way. Does He still love me? What am I missing? Which actions do I need to perform to remain in God’s good book? The more I tried, the more I wondered what this salvation thing was all about.
One day I heard His voice say to me REST IN ME; REST IN MY LOVE. This was new to me! Rest? I began to come into His presence not necessarily to pray but to be still – there I found love so deep that no amount of wealth or unanswered prayers could shake me.
I began to realize that the important thing that feeds the core of man/woman is a relationship so deep and intimate with God his maker that nothing else seems to matter. This love is found in Jesus Christ and kept with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Now not only do I continually rest in His love but He has begun to bless me with all things.
I no longer fret over big or small situations, because I know that the DIVIDEND OF THIS INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP IS VICTORY ON ALL SIDES.
